kool. is honored to be named a Gala Awards Nominee in the best  achievement for rental company support category for 2011!

The Gala Awards have been given by Special Events Magazine, the premier industry publication, since 1986, when the awards honored the “top 10 events of 1985.” They recognize the finest work in special events worldwide.

For the 2011 Gala Awards, the magazine received nearly 340 entries in 35 categories from Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Russia, Spain and the United States of America.

Members of the Special Events Magazine Advisory Board, made up of leaders in the event profession, spent two days in October at the magazine’s offices in Pacific Palisades (Los Angeles), California, to select the finalists. Nominated entries went through three rounds of judging. The winners will be chosen at The Special Event 2012 in Tampa, Fla., which runs Jan. 24-27.

The Gala Awards will be given out on Jan. 27 at a black-tie gala ceremony at The Special Event 2012.

Our kool. Photo Challenge Winner is….

John Duran, owner of Duran Infinity Designs

John is an up and coming designer and graphic artist from San Diego, CA. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the New School of Architecture & Design. John consistently breaks the boundaries between traditional and innovative design by applying his knowledge and creative flare into all that he creates. This was demonstrated in the wedding he designed at the Robert Paine Scripps Seaside Forum, November 7, 2010, in La Jolla, CA., which he describes as a “Night Life Surf and Turf.”
John’s intent was to draw the scenic views of La Jolla Shores into the venue by creating an aquatic theme that further enhanced the already apparent concept within this architectural gem. The enhanced lighted décor from kool. Party Rentals consisting of lighted acrylic cocktail tables, dining tables and a custom sweetheart table reinforced John’s concept and assisted in transitioning this amazing venue into a magnificent piece of art.
